WooCommerce is one of the leading eCommerce WordPress plugins. The main reason for its popularity is how easily it allows you to run a successful online store. This plugin is lightweight, feature-rich, and open source. When using WooCommerce, it is helpful to understand product types, categories, tags, attributes, pricing, and the difference between simple and variable products.
Adding Products
This is the first step in managing your WooCommerce website. Products can be added, modified, or deleted at any time, and pricing can be updated as needed.
To add a product, log in to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to Products > Add New on the left-side menu.
Add Product Title and Details
The “Add New” page allows you to input the product name and description, choose a product category, and upload both a primary product image and a gallery of additional images. You will also find various options for configuring pricing details.
Add Product Pricing
WooCommerce offers several product types to choose from, including Simple Products, Grouped Products, External/Affiliate Products, and Variable Products.
When setting up a Simple Product, you can define both a Regular price and a Sale price.
